Preparedness: readiness; organized; arrange by systematic planning and united effort.

If you prepare yourself at every point as well as you can … you will be able to grasp opportunity for broader experience when it appears. Eleanor Roosevelt

Emergency Car Kit:

You should have your car kit complete and in your car. Here is a quick recap of some of the things you need in it: Flashlight and batteries, bottle water, non-perishable food, blankets or sleeping bags, whistle, pocket knife, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, jumper cables, duct tape, cell phone charger, tire gauge, reflective triangles, and local road maps.

Medical Preparedness:

Here is a list of possible medications you should have or stockpile in your emergency kit or home storage. We all have experienced in the last year just how quickly medications can disappear off the shelves.

List: Tylenol, Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Orajel, Naproxen, Pepto Bismol, Imodium, Electrolytes, Burn Cream, Antibiotics or antibacterial ointment / neosporin, quickclot, cough syrup, cough drops, vapor rub, decongestants, antihistamines, anti-itch creams, fungal creams, epi-pen, natural antibiotics, saline solutions, laxatives, activated charcoal, melatonin, immune boosting supplements, potassium iodide tablets.

Do your best to get them stocked up. Watch expiry dates and be sure to rotate and use them. However, on that note, an expired medication will for the most part, be better than no medication at all.
